What is Photocatalyst?

  • Photocatalyst means a function that substances work as catalyst if light exists such as a plant does photosynthesis.
  • If light reaches photocatalyst materials, electron is excited from the valance band to conduction band, leaving the hole in valance band.
  • The holes produce hydroxy radicals(+OH) to oxidation of H2O, electrons are transferred to oxygen so that produce superoxide anions(O2-).
  • These oxidants(or reductants) decompose organic materials into CO2 and H2O.
  • Photocatalyst materials can be used semi-permanently, because do not change themselves when a light exist.
  • Photocatalyst are used TiO2 anatase type.

Photocatalyst's Merit(Strength)

  • It works many functions such as anti-bacterial, deodorization, hydrophile property, decontamination etc.
  • It can be used semi-permanently and does not harm person.
  • It does not include organic materials.
  • It is easy to use and adhesion good, compare with others' products.
  • It have ~20㎚ size TiO2 particles and can be coated in glass without haze.
  • It is possible for us to coat in anything.

Photocatalyst's effects

Decompose of organic materials

  • TiO2 produce hydroxy radical and superoxide anion by reaction with H2O
  • Decompose organic materials, NOx, SOx, Cl2, NH3 etc.

Anti-bacterial effects

  • Sterilize bacterial and prevent 2nd contamination
  • Works semi-permanently, so economic profits and convenience

Deodorizing effects

  • Decompose offensive odors occurred closed in-door by chemical reaction
  • Because of catalytic reaction, use semi-permanently

Self clean

  • Possible to remove a remained contaminant by rain or water washing, because of hydrophilic effect.
  • Can be reduced cleaning expensive

Photocatalyst products

Photocatalyst coating product

  • It is used as upper coating material in indoor/outdoor. Its excellent photocatalyst effect can decompose VOC's such as formaldehyde, acdtaldehyde, ammonia etc. remove offensive odors and sterilize suspended bacteria. This product was produced by self-developed patent, include nano size Tio2 particles and have excellent photocatalyst effect. Also, it was suitable to indoor/outdoor because does not necessary high temperature heat-treatment.

Photocatalyst under - coating

  • It is used as under coating materials in indoor/outdoor. It improves adhesion of substrate-upper coating so that improves durability. It protects substrate from photo-decompositon. Also, it consist of same component with upper coating, so affinity was good. It was suitable to indoor/outdoor because does not necessary high temperature heat-treatment.

Clean Plus

  • It have strong deodorizing force remove VOC's and bad smells during photocatalyst drying period. Also, because of anti-bacterial effect, it is effect to remove suspended bacterial in initial period (but, its effect does not durability, within 3 months)
